The Drop Zone Operations Kit contains items required by the Drop Zone Safety Team Leader and Malfunction NCO to setup operational Airborne Drop Zone for personnel and equipment. This kit is composed of several purpose specific sub-kits: the DZ Kit, Night Operations Kit (including IR lights), Parachute Malfunction Kit, Tree Recovery Kit, Wind Measuring Kit and DZ Safety Kit. The sub-kit equipment is packaged in sealed containers to assure accountability of unused items during the reconstitution phase of deployment. Additional accessory kits can be purchased for units, such as TDA units, that do not have sensitive equipment for their property books. This kit is built using the same parts listed within Airborne SOPs from conventional as well as Special Operations Forces Units.
